THE General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has told politicians to take their loss at the coming elections as the will of God. Adeboye disclosed this during a media briefing to announce a special prayer meeting for the transport sector scheduled for Sunday at its headquarters church in Ebute Metta, Lagos.

“Nigeria belongs to Nigerians and not to any individual, sect, religion or group of people. So, politicians should not make the election a do-or-die affair. Saying that I must get there by all means is wrong. It should not be that way. If you lose an election, take it as the will of God.

“If God is not willing that you get there, you are not getting there and losing an election does not mean an end to your life,” he said.

Adeboye, who was represented by the Assistant Pastor in charge of the headquarters church, Pastor Goke Aniyeloye, appealed to the would-be political office holders to go into office with the mind to serve the people.

He also urged them to enter into office with the determination to leave the nation better than they met it and not worse and called on the electorate to go out and vote en masse for people who

have integrity, who can deliver and who can serve the people and not those who will rule them.

The pastor said the plan to host a prayer meeting with members of the transport sector was to prepare their minds for a peaceful, free and fair elections beginning from tomorrow.

He said the church planned to collaborate with the Federal Road Safety Commission to hold a bi_monthly seminar and educational talk for the operators.

Adeboye said the purpose of the prayer meetings for the sector members was to equip them with the knowledge required to make it safe for all and also to evangelism its operators to ensure their success in life.

The Cleric regretted that politicians find the touts easy preys to use as political thugs adding that his meeting with them will enable them know that they were not created touts but people capable of doing good things.
