In a bid to appreciate its customers the United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) in collaboration with the Moneygram has rewarded its Nigerian customers who emerged as winners in the just concluded UBA Moneygram Promotion.
Eighty thousand customers qualified for the draw, 15 emerged as winners with a star winner totaling 16 winners in the promotion titled “Ride into 2011 in style” of which 10 3kjv Generator, five Panasonic LCD TV and a Toyota Corona brand new car was disposed to winners.
Speaking during the official draw to unveil winners at the UBA House, Marina, Lagos. Division Head Retail Banking, Mr. Chidi Okpala said remittances is of strategic relevance to any economy any where in the world, behind being a reliable source of foreign exchange of the economy, it provides a vital platform for family and friends to maintain relationships and to support each other.
Okpala explained that the promo which took place during the Christmas period last year, which is the peak period of remittances not just in Nigeria but every where in the world, is an opportunity to appreciate customers who have patronized the bank and have been supportive over the years.
According to him, “the quality of service that we have in UBA is quite remarkable and we will continue to improve upon them and very importantly, the US dollar payout which we’ve been able to achieve across all our network and the fact that we have consistently rewarded our customers who have been loyal, who have been consistent and have always patronized us under this service”.
He pointed that UBA’s partnership with MoneyGram dates back to about 15 years ago, adding that it has been a rewarding partnership, not just for UBA, but also for Moneygarm and its customers.
He noted that over the last 15 years, the bank has grown in that partnership and have become moneygram’s largest super agent in Nigeria.
Nnana Theophilus Ajibo of Zone C, shop 86 ASPMDA, Lagos, who received N60,000.79 which is equivalent to $400 emerged as star winner of the Toyota Corona brand new car.
Sonia Ogbeide of Benin, Edem Archbong of Calabar,Folake Ojo of Lagos,amongs others, emerge winners of the Generator set and Uzoamaka Ogidi, Mordi Vera Chekwube , Jude Nwabuko among others emerged the LCD TV winners.
Speaking in the same vein, Operations Manager, Kunle Olamuyiwa said it is an opportunity to reiterate the commitment that MoneyGram and UBA have for their customers here in Nigeria.
Olamuyiwa said “We see this as an opportunity to give back to customers that has been the back of our business here in Nigeria by presenting this gifts that could make a big differences in a lot of peoples life.
“Moneygram as a company has a strategy to be the globally preferred network ,where the people will go to either send or receive money, and UBA is our largest partner in Nigeria, still our super agent, he said.
