ABUJA – As the nation prepares to kick start the April general elections on Saturday, Senate President, David Mark, has asked security operatives to properly check Nigeria’s border to stop aliens from infiltrating the country.
Senator Mark, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh, also called on parents to guard against their children being used as mercenaries to cause mayhem during and after the elections.
He observed that the time for security operatives to be more vigilant was now, as non-citizens were usually hired by evil-minded politicians to commit crimes during after and elections.
He noted that security operatives should work round the clock to stop them from any act which might derail the general elections.
The Senate President also pleaded with Nigerians to ensure a violent-free election, noting that violence would not produce credible leaders.
The statement reads: “Most of the crimes perpetrated, especially along and within land borders areas, were committed by aliens who are mostly recruited for ulterior motives.
“Security operatives should properly man the border towns to check the likely infiltration by aliens.”
