Bizman petitions police over threat to life

Lagos – A Lagos- based businessman, Mr. Fidelis Ogwugwa, has raised  alarm over alleged plot to eliminate him by his wife and her lover (names withheld).

Ogwugwa, who petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Suleiman Faikai, in Zone 2 Lagos,  through his lawyer,  S. Ogunleye, alleged that his wife and her lover, a top financial director in an insurance firm in Lagos, had  threatened to end his life, if he failed to shelve his plan  to dissolve his 20-year-old  marriage.

Ogwugwa alleged that his life had come under severe threats after he filed a petition for the dissolution of his marriage at a Lagos High Court, upon discovering that his wife had been engaging in extra-marital affairs with a senior colleague in her workplace.

He said copies of the petition were made available to all the respondents, adding:  “after this, I started receiving threat calls from anonymous callers, threatening to kill me if I do not stop pushing for   divorce,  and  one of the respondents also sent me  an SMS, threatening to snuff the life out of me if I did’t stop the divorce process.”

He continued.  “I have also noticed several vehicles tailing me while I drive. But I want the police and the rest of the world to know what I am going through and I also want the police to stop these people from carrying out their threats.” He Lamented  .

Meanwhile when contacted,  the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Zone 2 Headquarter Onikan Lagos, AIG  Suleiman Fakai, said he is yet to go through the petition as he is on official duties in Abuja. But he assured that he would commence full investigations into the matter when he return.
