Abuja playing pitch can be ready in 24 hrs

Following the complain made by Super Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia, on the state of the Abuja National Stadium playing turf, Stadium Manager of Gateway International Stadium, Ilaro, Mr Yinka Oyelumade has said that the pitch can be  ready in 24 hours.

He made this known to Saturday Vanguard Sports that light training on the pitch would do it good before the start of the match.

He said: “it possible for the pitch to be lurched green by Sunday for the match, all that is needed is just constant watering for 24 hours, this is the most important thing.

“There should be over loading and too much training on the pitch. For the home side training on the pitch, they should not use it too long, else it will mar it. More so, they need to use it with boots that has studs,” Oyelumade stressed.
