Robbers kill man, snatch N2m

PORT HARCOURT— ARMED robbers, yesterday, opened fire on one Salihu Sani and Abdul Mu Miminu, dispossessing them of N2 million cash. The incident came on the heels of Monday’s attack on the president of Ijaw National Congress, Dr Atuboyedia Obianime at Choba Roundabout in the state.

Confirming the latest robbery incident on Salihu and Abdul, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Dr Rita Inoma-Abbey told the Vanguard that the robbers drove a saloon car, attacked their victims as they were coming out from a bank on Aba Road in Port Harcourt.  One of the victims reportedly died while the other was said to be responding to treatment at a hospital in the state capital at press time.

One of the robbers was arrested while the vehicle used in the operation was also recovered.

Her words: “Three armed men using a white Jetta car attacked one Salihu Sani and one Abdul Mu Miminu Isiaka on Aba Road.

They robbed them of the sum of about N2 million  withdrawn from the bank. Both victims were shot leading to the death of one of them. The second is responding to treatment. The prompt alert of the incident made at Woji Police Division pinned down the gang in the car used. One was arrested the other two escaped. The Jetta used for the operation was also recovered.
