LAGOS – Operatives at the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, have begun investigation into the murder of an unidentified man, whose lifeless body was discovered inside a sack yesterday, in Sururlere area of Lagos.
Sources at Panti said the investigation will first try to establish the identity of the deceased with a view to ascertaining when last he was seen.
Residents of the area, particularly students of Surulere Girls High School, were reportedly attracted to the bag which loosed tip revealed a human head. No one dared opened the sack until an unlooker reportedly kicked it.
The bag opened wide, revealing the remains of a full grown adult.
Policemen were quickly alerted, who reportedly carried the body away.
Police sources said there were bruises all over the deceased, which suggested he could have been murdered.
Contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Samuel Jinadu said investigation was still on-going.
