Ilorin—The leadership of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that there was no controversy between the party and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The party also assured that all the litigations arising from its primaries would be sorted out before the commencement of the elections.
National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Kawu Abubakar Baraje, said this at an interaction with journalists in Ilorin, Thursday, while marking his 60th birthday.
Baraje explained that the issue between PDP and INEC could best be described as clarification on issues pertaining to the Rule of Law.
He contended that the controversies over the results from the primaries conducted by the party would be resolved before the commencement of the elections because the courts themselves were already aware that they must dispose of all the cases before the time.
The PDP chief scribe, assured Nigerians not to entertain any fear because the forthcoming elections would be free, fair and credible.
He said “PDP is a party of peace and progress and to that extent it will play its roles to the satisfaction of the electorate across party divides.”
Baraje also assured that the PDP-led government would provide lasting solution to the problems of Boko Haram because, “we must live together in peace, harmony and as one indivisible entity.”
He also said that no responsible government would tolerate the protracted crisis in Jos, Plateau State hence all stakeholders have been putting heads together to end the crisis there.
