Lagos lawmaker, Mr Sikiru Adebanjo representing Epe constituency II, yesterday, attributed his defection to Labour Party to the denial of his mandate by Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, at the primaries.
He disclosed this in an interview, yesterday, in Lagos.
According to him, “I decided to join the Labour Party when ACN prevented me from the opportunity to exercise my right. People voted for me at the primaries but I later discovered that they had given the ticket to another person and I will not allow them to control my destiny.
“I could not explain why the party behaved that way but my people voted for me immensely and I controlled a large number of delegates during the primaries, so why would continue to waste my time?” he added.
