Jonathan arrives in Ibadan, heads to Olubadan’s palace

Ibadan – President Goodluck Jonathan arrived Ibadan at 11.12 a.m. on Tuesday in continuation of his nationwide campaign.

The president touched down in a presidential jet marked no 5n-fgt and headed straight to the Olubadan’s palace.

Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Dimeji Bankole arrived earlier at 10 a.m. in an
airforce plane no 5n-fgs.

Other dignatries at the airport to receive the president include Minister of Defence Adetokunbo Kayode and Sports Minister Toheed Adedoja, Mr Segun Oni, former Ekiti Governor and Mrs Olusola Obada, former Osun Deputy Governor and Aare Arisekola Alao

Meanwhile, the entire vicinity of Mapo Hall in the heart of Ibadan was agog as Jonathan stormed the Oyo State capital for the PDP presidential campaign in the South West.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the stretch of Agodi gate, Oje, Mapo, Beere, Molete to Challenge road was filled with people as the route had been closed to traffic.

As early as 8 a.m. the arena of Mapo had been filled with PDP supporters.

Among the people that arrived the venue of the rally were former President Olusegun Obasanjo, his daughter Sen Iyabo, Ogun PDP governorship candidate Olatunji Olurin, former governors of Osun and Ondo Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Olusegun Agagu.

Others are former Minister of Education Tunde Adeniran, Sen Isiaka Adeleke and a host of others.

Artists like Wasiu Pasuma, Taye Currency, Rasidi Ayinde-Fuji Mereje among others provided entertainment at the venue. (NAN)
