Guinness Nigeria Plc, and franchise owners of Diageo brands, the parent company of Guinness International, said it is going to be collaborating with National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on its alcoholic beverage business line.
Mr. Devlin Hainsworth, Managing Director, Guinness Nigeria, who disclosed this during a courtesy visit to NAFDAC Headquarters, said the visit was an introductory call to intimate the agency of its spirit (alcoholic) business brands in Nigeria.
The Guinness Managing Director who expressed delight at the agency’s professionalism in its approval and regulatory process, noted that this renewed focus has afforded the agency the partnership of the World Bank and other regulatory and enforcement initiatives.
The delegation from Guinness Nigeria comprised of the Managing Director – Mr. Devlin Hainsworth, the General Manager, Diageo Brands Nigeria – Mr. Rory Mcmillan, Director, Corporate Relations – Mr. Sesan Sobowale, the Head of Public Policy – Mike Onuoha, the Head of Security – Mr. Tony Oghoghorie, Head of Public Policy, West Africa – Ms. Mojisola Akpata and the Brand Change Manager – Mrs. Henrietta Udolisa.
The Guinness Nigeria team was received by Dr. Orhii and other senior officials of NAFDAC including Mrs. Hauwa Keri – the Director, Establishment Inspection, Mrs. S. A. Denloye – Director, Laboratory Services, Dr. Barbara Chukwura – the Technical Assistant to the NAFDAC Director-General (DG), and Miss Aishatu Okpa – Special Assistant to the NAFDAC DG.
