Ghana has pulled out of the bid for 2013 FIFA Under-17 and 2014 Women’s Under-17 World Cups.
Ghana News Agency quoted a source within government to have attributed the sudden withdrawal to limited time and budgetary constraints.
Ghana would have been required to build two new stadiums as well as upgrade the existing four to FIFA standards if they had pursued the bidding process and won.
Denmark and the United Arab Emirates would now be contending for the hosting rights that would be announced in March.
The U-17 side of Ghana won the 1991 tournament in Italy and Ecuador 1995 but have failed to qualify for the last two editions of the tournament.
