Police in Lagos have arrested two brothers over the kidnap of a 12 year-old boy, in Ojokoro area of Lagos two weeks ago.
The suspects (names withheld) aged 19 and 23, respectively, allegedly kidnaped the boy (names withheld) while on his way home from school.
The unsuspecting Junior Secondary School 2 student, reportedly took shelter in a shop around centre road, during a heavy down pour on February 14, from where the suspects also did same, engaged him in a discussion which led to his revealing his father’s status.
The suspects thereafter, took the boy to their apartment around Jerry Street, Ojokoro, from where they put a call to his apprehensive father, demanding for N4 million ransom.
His father, a driver with one of the new generation banks, was said to have pleaded with N55,000, which the kidnappers instructed him to pay into an account, before the boy was eventually released after three days.
But the bubble burst for the brothers, as unknown to them, the little boy had picked one of their passport photographs while in their custody, which was taken to policemen at Owutu division.
