GOVERNOR Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State, has signed into law N146.2billion for the 2011 fiscal year.
The governor, had last year, proposed the budget of N141.7 billion to the Oyo State House of Assembly. The amount was increased by N4.5billion.
While receiving the budget, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr. Moruf Atilola, explained why it was jerked up.
He said, it was reviewed upward to cushion the effect of the tuition fees of the students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso and the Polytechnic Ibadan.
Governor Akala, while signing the budget into law, restated that his administration would put machinery in motion to improve on the Internally Generated Revenue.
The budget which he termed “Budget of Consolidation”, he said would be implemented without much reliance on the monthly allocation from oil.
