KANO—Presidential flag bearer of All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has picked former NADECO chieftain, Chief Odigie Oyegun as running mate.
A press statement by Governor Shekarau’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Alhaji Sule Yau Sule, explained that the aborted third Republic Edo State Governor under the platform of National Republican Convention, emerged after ‘consultation’.
The statement noted that “Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has nominated the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as the Vice Presidential candidate.”
Oyegun, a pro-democracy activist, was born in August 1939 in Warri, Delta State, and he is currently the Deputy Chairman, South, of ANPP.
Oyegun, a 1963 graduate of Economics from the University of Ibadan, is a retired Federal Permanent Secretary and was the former Governor of Edo State in the Second Republic.
