BENIN—THERE are indications that Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, will today (Wednesday) reshuffle his cabinet in a bid to re-strategize and refocus it ahead the forthcoming general elections.

Vanguard learnt that some of the Commissioners and Special Advisers who ran for different positions in the last primaries of the party may be dropped. It is also expected that the Secretary to the state Government, Mr Pally Iriase, who recently grabbed the ticket for the House of Representatives seat for Owan Federal Constituency, may be dropped so as to allow him pursue his ambition.

Vanguard also gathered that the Governor may want to bring in some politicians who will be able to give the PDP a run for their money, particularly in PDP dominated areas, as Commissioners.

Governor Oshiomhole hinted about the shake up during the swearing in ceremony of two Commissioners last Monday when he refused to disclose the portfolio of the two Commissioners, after insisting that he will not disclose the portfolio until Wednesday (today).

While addressing the audience, Oshiomhole said lightheartedly that “we will have to look at areas where the plugs are not working well and either change or clean them.”

We will service the engine so that it will work properly”.

Vanguard learnt that the Governor was not happy with the way some Government appointees who went to press to condemn the way the primaries were conducted after they lost in the exercise. Some of those people may also be affected in the shake up.
