Movement for the Survival the Plateau People, MOSOP, has condemned the eve of Christmas bomb blasts in Jos.  In a statement by Mr. Hussein Adamu and Mrs Edna Yelwa, President and Secretary-General of MOSOP, respectively, the group said: “The attacks has again added more pains to our sorrows in the hands of faceless murderers who have found a new job destroying the Plateau.

“While we commend the efforts of the security agencies in the past few years in trying to contend with these terrorists, it is, however, evidently clear that not much successes have been recorded in averting these attacks like the one of December 24. We also share in the belief that the Police, SSS, STF and other security agencies could have done better to avert these terrorists attacks.”

MOSOP said that in August 2010, the cache of 53 pieces of AK 47 rifles intercepted in Maiduguri, Borno State, and the Iran arms import intercepted at Lagos ports were meant for Jos.

It said: “Even when we are tired of calling for investigations into the perennial attacks on Plateau State, we will not relent in clamouring for a bold confrontation of the crisis. We only need a strong political will, as has been demonstrated by President Jonathan, to get to the root of this Jos crisis and fish out the conspirators.”
