Imo State governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, has approved the appointment of Prince Victor N.C. Ibenye-Ugbala as the new Secretary to the state government.
Chief Ohakim approved his appointment following the resignation of Chief Cosmas N. Iwu, the younger brother of the immediate past Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Maurice Iwu.
According to a release issued late Wednesday afternoon by the Principal Secretary to the governor, Mr. Okey Anyanwu, the governor disclosed that the appointment took immediate effect.
The terse statement signed by Mr. Anyanwu read: “Following the resignation of Chief Cosmas N. Iwu as the Secretary to Imo State government and acceptance of same by the governor, His Excellency the governor has approved Prince Victor N.C. Ibenye-Ugbala as the new Secretary to the State Government. The appointment takes immediate effect”.
