FORMER Military President, General Ibrahim Babaginda (rtd) Thursday described the death of Mrs Clara Oshiomhole as shocking, painful, shocking, and utterly discomforting.
Babaginda , said the death of the wife of Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole beats him hollow and left him utterly dumbfounded.
In a condolence message signed Thursday by his spokesperson,Babangida said: “The shocking death of Mrs Clara Oshiomhole, wife of the Edo State Comrade Governor, beats me hollow and left me utterly dumbfounded. Death, as the ultimate end has once again snatched one of the most treasured women role models in the annals of history.
“A woman who stood by her husband as a dependable partner, companion, soulmate, confidant, and exceptional mobiliser all through Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s struggles as labour leader of note and a Governor.
Without a role model as Clara, perhaps Adams would not have had the strength, the courage and conviction to push through all his struggles.
“It is only when the home front is at peace that the mind of the man could be at peace. She was an exceptional mother, one that could be described as the vertebral of Adams’ main struggle.”
Even as first lady of Edo State, she conducted herself within the confines of her role and never saw power as anything extra_ordinary.
“Beyond the glamour of office and the trappings of power, Clara was still her humble self, giving all the necessary support to her husband in meeting and fulfilling the promises to Edo people. Her death is painful, shocking, and utterly discomforting. May the almighty God in his infinite mercy grant her eternal rest in the hereafter. May God grant the family and our dear Comrade Governor the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.”
