Heartland of Owerri are in search of a foreign coach who could develop youth talents and market their potentials in overseas leagues.
This was disclosed by Heartland general manager, Mr. Fan Nduboke as he disclosed plans by the club to return to the top of the Nigeria Premier League where they are currently struggling to be in the top three this season.

Former Nigerian international Emmanuel Osigwe in currently in charge of Heartland, but Ndubuoke said that the club have made a shortlist of foreign managers whom they believe can achieve the twin goal of discovering youth talents, exposed them to big time football and keep the club afloat in the local and continental contest.

“We want a coach who has the knack to work with young players and who can open up business angles for these players overseas. It’s not just about what he can do on the pitch because we desire a technical partnership as well.

“We now have two feeder teams, an Under-14 team and an Under-17 team. We want to sustain our policy of parading young players,” Ndubuoke said.

Heartland was in the final of the 2009 CAF Champions League with coach Kelechi Emetole in charge. The club reached the knock out stage this season with Eagles’ coach Samson Siasia unable to conquer the group stages.
