WARRI—A family of four persons was roasted to death on, Wednesday, at Ayokoromor in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State during invasion of the community by the Joint Task Force, JTF, on the Niger-Delta in search of the leader of the Niger-Delta Liberation Force, NDLF, “General” John Togo.
Vanguard  gathered  that they were killed in their family home.

The Forum for Justice and Human Rights Defense, FJHD, in a statement by its national coordinator, Mr. Oghenejabor Ikimi, meanwhile condemned the attack, saying, “we condemn without reservation, the dastardly killing spree of innocent law abiding residents of Ayakoromo Community in Burutu council  of Nigeria by operatives of  JTF, through the raiding of its civilian population with military aircraft, gunboats and armoured tanks on December 1,  under the pretext of destroying John Togo’s camps.

“We were informed that over 150 innocent persons have perished in the said military expedition, including a family of four, roasted alive right in their family house. Ayakoromo community and other neighbouring communities are presently under military siege of the JTF operatives.

“We were also informed that residents of neigbouring Ogodobri Community and a host of other communities have since deserted same for fear of military attacks. While we condemn all forms of criminality in the creeks of the Niger Delta or any part of Nigeria, we insist that the recent military invasion of the civilian population of Ayakoromo community is unacceptable to the human rights community and must be condemned by all,” he said.
