MINISTER of Labour and Productivity, Chief Chukwuemeka Wogu, has described the death of Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Clara Oshiomhole, as a great loss not only to Edo State but to the nation in general in view of her priceless contribution to labour struggle among others.
The Minister in condolence message, also spoke highly of said Mrs. Oshiomhole’s input to the cause of humanity and her strong support for the rule of law and recalled her support for her husband during his days as a frontline labour activist.
The Minister stated that even though she’s gone her contributions to checking high infant mortality rate in Nigeria through her pet project, Health Foundation for Maternal and Child Care, aimed at providing quality healthcare for pregnant women and the girl-child lives on.
While praying to God to give the people of Edo State and Nigeria in general the fortitude to bear the loss, Wogu said, “Words fail to convey my feeling over her death at this critical time, but suffice to say that I share in your sorrow and I pray God Almighty to comfort and give the family of Oshiomhole and the people of Edo State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”. The Minister prayed.
