PZ Cussons PLC, has unveiled its new range of baby products to the public during Indulge Nigeria Ltd.; ‘Wellness Award’ ceremony in Lagos.
Other recipients of the awards were MTN Nigeria, Clerk, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Taiwo Olatunji, Dr. Ladi Hamalai of Policy and research project, National Assembly, Mrs. Ebuola Anozie of Care Organization Public Enlightenment (COPE), UNICEF, Grand Cereals & Oil limited, Nigeria Heart Foundation, PZ Cussons, Dufil Prima Foods and Senator Eze Ajoku of Graceful Ageing Fellowship.
The event attracted captains of industries in the manufacturing industry as well as international agencies and non_governmental organisations.
In an address during the public presentation of PZ Cussons’ products, the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Indulge Nigeria Limited, Dr. Bisi Abiola, said the products had benefitted over 25 Creches in Lagos State alone, and had helped to consolidate the strong emotional bond between mothers, babies and the brand.
Dr. Abiola, noted that the Indulge Wellness day was an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of government, non_governmental institutions, and companies in promoting healthy lifestyle in Africa.
According to her, “the achievements of the award recipients cut across various areas of fitness initiatives which embrace promoting health amongst employees, encouraging fitness and sports activities in the workplace, awareness campaign, on breast cancer, heart wellness and healthy lifestyle, healthy eating, welfare and wellness of mothers, babies, children and the older citizens.”
Speaking on the award ceremony, Dr. Kingsley Akinroye of Nigeria Heart Foundation, described the Award as remarkable “because of the significant impact it is going to make in improving healthy lifestyle.”
Dr. Akinroye noted with dismay that for the past 20 years, focus was only on malaria while none was on heart diseases, even when his organization had been creating awareness on heart disease as number killer disease in Africa.
The Medical Consultant for MTN Nigeria, Dr. Idorenyin Oladiran, thanked the organisers for a paradigm shift from curative medicine to preventive medicine.
She however, assured that the award would spur MTN Nigeria into investing for the well-being of its workforce, as according to her no company can sustain progress without a productive workforce.
