WARRI—THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been charged by the member representing Warri North in the state House of Assembly, Mrs Irene Imilar, to support former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to ensure that he is returned victorious, as the issue on ground was not about Uduaghan but the party.

Imilar gave the charge in Koko,  Warri North Local Government Area, during a meeting with executives of the Warri North chapter of the party.

Imilar said, the PDP must show that it was the only political party in the state by not only emerging victorious but claiming a landslide victory.

While calling for calm, she noted that the recent nullification of the 2007 elections should not deter them but rather invigorate them towards ensuring that Uduaghan was returned to the Government House as well as in the 2011 general elections.

The legislator also urged members of the party who have not registered to do so in a bid to emerge victorious both at the re_run elections and at the 2011 general elections.
Chairman of the Warri north chapter of the PDP, Chief John Okorolokor assured Imilar of the party’s readiness to emerge victorious at both the re_run elections saying PDP was on ground in the state and would beat its opponents.

According to Chief Okorolokor, the PDP Warri North remained committed to ensuring that Dr. Uduaghan wins at the re_run and would leave no stone unturned to until victory is got.

A PDP chieftain in the area, Chief Adams Otimehin charged all party faithful to go to the nooks and crannies of the state to sensitize them on the need to return Dr. Uduaghan to the government house saying his antecedents speaks volumes and the people should not allow the various laudable projects being executed to be derailed as that would spell a disaster to Deltans.

He said PDP remained resolute on getting victory but they must also come out enmasse to vote as it would not be as usual as their opponents are working assiduously to unseat the party in the state.

Chief Otimehin however debunked claims that Dr. Uduaghan was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, saying those spreading such rumours was enemies of the state.

Others who spoke at the meeting said the recent happenings was a learning process in the political life of the state and charged all PDP members to use this as an opportunity to show that the party was united unlike the insinuations in some quarters.
