MULTINATIONAL organisations in Nigeria, with connectivity requirements across the globe, may now think less of international private lines, as Suburban Telecoms in partnership with PCCW Global, have brought a more cost-effective global Multi Protocol Label Switching-based connectivity.

Suburban has also introduced a high definition video conferencing and global Internet Protocol connectivity solution that delivers good picture quality.
MPLS networks are private, secured and fully meshed network of different locations over an Internet Protocol backbone.
The Chief Operating Officer, Suburban Telecoms, Mr. Suleiman Arzika, who expressed delight at the inauguration of the technology in Lagos last week, said that with the track record for implementation and service capabilities of PCCW Global, the MPLS-based service would enable Nigerian enterprises to plan and run affordable video conferencing application whenever required,
He explained that Nigerian businesses seeking to reduce travel costs amid unfavourable economic conditions could use the video conferencing technology without necessarily constituting a downside to employee productivity.
According to him, the HDVC solution will also facilitate a greener company environment by reducing carbon footprint.
The company demonstrated the efficiency of its technological solution by initiating a live video conferencing session between Lagos, Abuja and United States.
Speaking on the benefits of video conferencing , Arzika said that the HDVC solution will not only transform the way businesses were conducted in Nigeria, but that it would help make vital services like healthcare and education more accessible to those who need them.
Speaking on the partnership, the Executive Director for Africa, PCCW Global, Mr. Yossi Baker, explained that the managed video conferencing service included the provision of high-definition terminals and it came with a robust MPLS Virtual Private Networks and IPLC/IEPL connectivity for superior point-to-point or multi-party video conferencing, all supported by proven project management and global round-the-clock service.
