President of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rafiu Ladipo has said that the problems surrounding the person of Nigeria’s CAF and FIFA executive committees member, Amos Adamu would have no bearing on the peace process between the National Association of Nigerian Footballers and the beleaguered Nigeria Football Federation.
Speaking in his office Monday, Ladipo who declined comments on the bribery allegations against Dr Adamu admitted that although Dr Adamu was a key figure in the truce reached after the contempt charge against him and officials of the deposed NFF board was thrown out, the present situation with the WAFU president would not truncate the process.
Said Ladipo, “the case cannot jeopardise the peace process because the truce involves more people than Adamu.”
On the purported bribe scandal surrounding the FIFA man Ladipo said, “I believe a FIFA Ethics committee is sitting on the matter.
Until FIFA makes a final statement, no one can comment. We should not rush into conclusion. It remains an allegation until FIFA findings are made public.”
