WARRI—WORRIED by strange deaths in his kingdom in recent time, the Ovie of Idjerhe (Jesse) Kingdom in Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Erhiekevwe 1, and the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, have announced a one-week prayer and fasting programme for the people of the community to avert further deaths.
It was gathered that three young men and a lady suddenly slumped and died around the motor park/old market square area of Jesse town recently and the fear in the kingdom was that the deaths were not natural.
The programme, which started on October 17, is for all sons and daughters of Jesse all over the world to fast and pray for themselves and the entire land for God to avert further deaths of young people in the kingdom.
The royal father in a statement by the Iyasere of Idjerhe Kingdom, Uzzi Gabriel Emeje, said the fasting and prayers for Idjerhe people themselves, should terminate at 12 pm each day, after compulsory early morning prayer sessions between the hours of 5am through 6am daily by CAN, Idjerhe chapter, which is coordinating the programme.
The monarch explained there was a warning of impending calamity before the mysterious deaths but it was not taken seriously, saying that wherever Idjerhe people were on the face of the earth, they should pray to God to forgive them and even the dead ones their sins, to stop further untimely death of young people and preserve their lives.
The monarch added that there would be a come together of all after a march through Jesse town on October 23, which is the last day of the exercise at the palace ground for the last session of prayers by all the people, including members of CAN, Jesse chapter.
