PORT HARCOURT— Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PCHN, has appealed to electricity consumers in some parts of Port Harcourt, to show understanding as they would experience total black out that would last for five days.
In a statement in Port Harcourt, yesterday, by the Assistant Manager, Public Affairs, Mr John Onyi, the company said some of the areas to be affected are Rumuibekwe, Rumuogba, Eliliji, Woji, Old Aba Road among others.
The statement advised residents in the listed areas to organise neighbourhood security for protection of PHCN facilities in the areas during the period of black out.
“The Borikiri Business Unit of Power Holding Company of Nigeria, Port Harcourt wishes to further inform her esteemed customers at Rumuibekwe, Rumuogba, Elijiji, Woji Town, Elkon Estate, Old Aba Road and some parts of Elelenwo that power supply will be interrupted for four days starting from Thursday 23rd,September 2010.
This power interruption is to enable our Engineers commence installation of the newly acquired 11kv breakers at YKC junction 33/11kv Injection Substation.
We solicit for your patience and understanding while the job last as it is aimed at further improving the power situation.
However, you are encouraged to step up vigil lance within your community in other to avert any act of vandalism against PHCN installations while we await the completion date.”
