Former Super Eagles player Emmanuel Amuneke says he has learnt a lot since taking up the Bayelsa job, where he consults for the state government on football matters.
The former Sporting Lisbon forward admits that there are challenges in Bayelsa but added that the challenges have brought out the best in him. He said it has helped him know more of the players in the country and that he has better grasp of the situation most of the players and clubs are going through.
“Before I came to Bayelsa, I knew there will be challenges and I also knew people would not buy my ideas . But in all, it is idea that defines a man, if you have your concept and objective and believe in it, you will make it. Though it may take time, but if you are very honest with yourself you will get there.
I enjoyed all the challenges I got, I know I will still get more because it also gives me more ideas. You can not stay out side and say you know it all.
“Our league is good but to be honest we still have a lot of work to do. There is no real effort in the league. You will notice that whenever any of our teams go out side our shores, they find it difficult to cope. The reason is due to the substandard nature of our league,” the former FC Barcelona player said.
