Nigerian Air Force acquires N557m housing estate

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has paid N557 million to the Niger State government to acquire the Zuma Rock Housing Estate, situated along the Kaduna-Abuja Road beside the popular Zuma Rock, in Suleja.

Niger State Commissioner for Housing, Alhaji Hassan Abdullahi, disclosed that the state Executive Council approved the sale, adding that NAF intended to use the estate for the post-service housing scheme for its officers and men.

Abdullahi remarked that the money received from the sale of the estate would be ploughed back into the development of mass and affordable housing scheme of the state, in line with its development action plan and to help achieve the 5,000 housing units target of the current administration. He added that part of the money would also be used to finish the Bida and the Kontagora housing estates.

The commissioner further disclosed that the estate had 274 housing units out of which 50 were fully paid for by private individuals and 68 partially paid for, while 156 units were free from any encumbrances.

He said that arrangements were being made by private individuals, who had fully paid for their units to negotiate with the state government towards parting with their units for the Air Force.
