Chairman of Izon Okosu-Otu (Ijaw Elders’ Council), Delta State, Chief Bare Etolor, has said Ijaw are not against Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s re-election but would resist party primaries/elections of Ijaw representatives conducted outside its territory as done in the past.
Condemning alleged plot to still conduct primaries in Oleh outside Ijaw land, Chief Etolor warned Ijaw legislators conniving with others to desist from such plan or be held responsible for the outcome. Asserting that sit-tight syndrome was largely absent elsewhere, Etolor wondered why party chairmen were foisting such on Ijaw land and tasked INEC to be on guard.
The Ijaw leader informed Governor Uduaghan that it is the grassroots Ijaw people that are the stabilizing factor for his government in Ijaw land and not the national and state legislators of Bomadi and Patani areas
Etolor, however, thanked the National/State legislators of Burutu area for bowing to the peoples’ wish that they vacate their present posts for others to serve.
