AS the crisis between rival groups of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Oyo State remains unabated, another member of the union has lost his life while others were injured in a fresh attack. The latest death brings the casualty figure in the lawless union to about 30.
Three members of the union believed to be supporters of the dismissed chairman of the union, Alhaji Lateef Salako were felled during the previous fracas.
Also, the Chairman of the union, Alhaji Lateef Akinsola a.k.a Tokyo claimed that 29 of his supporters were allegedly killed and thrown into a river.
He said two bodies were found while they were still searching for the bodies of the remaining 22 people.
Besides the loss of lives, 83 vehicles were reportedly burnt or vandalized when the factions clashed at Olomi area of the city.
The fresh violence that broke out under the flyover at Olomi area of the city reportedly started when supporters of Eleweomo attempted to take over the motor park which is under the control of Tokyo,.
Vanguard gathered that several others were injured when the other faction struck.
Giving details of how the member of the union, Raji Taiwo was killed, a source said he was beaten with all kinds of dangerous weapons and he was sprawling on the ground when the vehicle that conveyed the attackers to the motor park ran over him.
His remains were said to have been taken to the State Police Command at Eleyele.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Baba Adisa Bolanta, confirmed the incident but added further that the deceased was killed when a vehicle ran over him.
