The ten kingmakers of Ajah in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State are warning against the alleged plan to instal Chief Fatai Olumegbon as the monarch of the community.
The kingmakers said the installation would be prejudicial to the work of the tribunal of inquiry on chieftaincy matters in Lagos looking into the issue of Obaship in Ajah.
The kingmakers, in a letter by their solicitors, E.O. Ometan and Co, to Governor Babatunde Fashola, said, “Our clients have informed us that rumours and stories have been making the rounds that plans have been concluded by your esteemed government to install Chief Fatai Olumegbon as the Oba of Ajah before the end of this year 2010.
“We have confidently told our clients that the Lagos State Government being a very responsible government will do nothing contrary to the wishes of the people of Ajah who have re-iterated in no uncertain terms that they do not want Chief Fatai Olumegbon imposed on them as the Oba of Ajah.”
