Power shifted hand in UBA on Saturday, When Mr Tony Elumelu, retired as the group CEO of UBA. This is in line with the CBN policy that CEOs of banks who have spent more than ten year should proceed on immediate retirement. In an elaborate ceremony organized in his honor at the expansive Eko Hotel & Suite, at Victoria Island, which attracted people from both the public and private sector of the society. Mr. Elumelu thanked UBA for the wonderful event put together to honour him.
He said he enjoyed his time at UBA and will now channel his energy towards making sure new generation of leaders emerge through the Tony Elumelu Foundation. He encouraged them to extend the same cooperation to the in-coming Group CEO, Mr. Philip Oduoza.
