Rivers understudies Delta micro credit scheme
By LUCKY OJI
A three-man team from the Rivers State Micro Credit Agency has visited Delta State to understudy the Delta Micro Credit Programme, DMCP.
Leader of the team, Mr. Stanley Urakpo, said they were in Delta to understudy DMCP, due to the programme’s track record in empowering 51,186 persons in just two years of its existence, and also the testimonies of clients of the programme on how the scheme has changed their lives.
Urakpo said the Rivers State government has followed with keen interest the positive impact the DMCP has made on the lives of the people and have come to tap from it.
Responding, the executive assistant to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on micro credit, Dr. Antonia Ashiedu, commended the team for the visit, saying Governor Uduaghan has used the scheme to stimulate economic growth, tackle insecurity and create employment opportunities for Deltans.
It could be recalled that Imo State Government last year, sent a 3-man delegation also to understudy the Delta Micro Credit Programme
