ABUJA—THE National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, said yesterday that members of Anambra State chapter of the party constituted the major problem confronting the party in the state.

Inaugurating a 29- member Caretaker Committee for the PDP in Anambra State, Nwodo told Anambra PDP members that his action was the last chance for them to mend forces.

“This is our last attempt that if we try now and you people go home and fail, then PDP will give up on Anambra State and I hope we will not have to do that, not in a state where we have the best politicians in the whole of the South East and then that state cannot be run effectively to win election. I believe that you are very competent,” Nwodo said.

The PDP National chairman, urged the Caretaker Committee, which has Emma Nweze from Ekwusigo local government as chairman, to ensure that they consulted with stakeholders in the state, just as he tasked them with the responsibility of putting in place local government executives at ward and local government councils the way they were raised.
