WARRI – FACTIONAL former militant group from Sokebolou Yokiri in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, yesterday denied media reports by Believe Anumu and Adowei Binebi in the Vanguard Newspapers, that their differences had been resolved, stressing that only an unreserved apology to the community leadership was the answer to resolving the dispute.
The group in a statement, said “we want to clear the impression published by Believe Anumu and Adowei Binebi in the Vanguard Newspaper, that they have resolved their differences with our group, Sokebolou Yokiri communities and SPDC contractors on the pipeline surveillance job.
Adowei and Believe, who were thinking themselves to be birds, where made to understand that they were butterflies by the communities. They were sanctioned and compel to reverse the threat they issued to Shell and state government.â€
“Instead of doing that and tendering apology to their elders, they claimed that they had resolved matters, distancing themselves from us, saying that we should stop interfering to their internal matters.†it added.
The group queried “what internal matters do they have? We are saying boldly that we will continue to take part in any matter that concern Sokebolou Yokiri communities as we are bona fide sons of the communities. We have completed our non conflict training as former militants and we have become part of the society.â€
