The Lekki Concession Company (LCC) has alerted on the circulation of “false information “about the project, in the form of mobile phone text messages and pamphlets, which, it said, are aimed at misleading road users about the current rehabilitation and upgrade of the Lekki-Epe Expressway, and the future tolling of the road.
In a statement, Mr. Opuiyo Oforiokuma, managing director/chief executive officer, LCC, noted that this might have contributed to the demonstration carried out on Thursday between Chevron and Jakande Roundabouts on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, “since many people are genuinely misinformed about what is going on.â€Â
The company also observed that typical areas of misunderstanding and misrepresentation relate to the amount of the tolls tariffs, even though they are not yet published; the number of toll plazas to be constructed along the Lekki-Epe Expressway; the availability of alternative routes; and the actual scope of the rehabilitation and upgrade of the expressway, amongst others
