COMPTROLLER of FCT Customs Command Compt. U K Bello has disclosed that his Command was able to generate Two Billion Naira N2bn as Revenue from January-June, 2010.
Compt. U.K. Bello said this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Commanding Officer Air force Base, Abuja Group Captain M.O. Olatunji.
the visit Compt. U.K. Bello expressed appreciation to the Commanding officer on the numerous assistance the base rendered to the Customs Command, such assistance include the use of the sporting and medical facilities by the officers and men of the Command. Also the intensive parade, drills and similar training conducted by the air force officers to the Customs officers and men of the Area Command.
Compt. U.K. Bello also explained the activities of Customs in the Federal Capital Command in the areas of Revenue Collection and suppression of smuggling, and how the Command was able to generate Two Billion Naira [N2bn] as Revenue from January_June, 2010.
In his response, Group Captain Olatunji also briefed the visiting Customs Area Controller, Compt. U.K. Bello on the activities of the Air force base. He therefore stressed the need for more cooperation in the area of assisting their officers who always travel for official trip.
The Customs Area Controller had earlier paid similar visits to the Military Airport Commandant, Group Captain H. U. Mohammed and the Regional Manager Federal Airport Authourity [FAAN] Mr. Chris Bature. The courtesy call will continue with a visit to the FCT Commissioner of Police, Comptrollers of Immigration and Prison Services of the FCT Command respectively.
