ASABA — DELTA State police command has arrested twenty suspected armed robbers that had been operating between Lagos, Osun, Edo, Delta, Anambra and Abia states visiting terror on motorists.
State police command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr.Charles Muka, who confirmed the incident said that they arrested robbers were fished out from markets in Asaba following a tip off.
According to him: “Delta police command has arrested 20 suspected interstate Fulani armed robbers who operated between Lagos, Osun, Edo , Delta Anambra Abia states.
“On 10th August at about 6.30pmâ€, he went on, “our men stormed old and new Hausa markets Asaba and arrested the deadly Fulani robbers. Through the handsets recovered from them victims who confirmed being robbed at Abia were contacted. The suspects had made confessional statements.
Items recovered included five handsets and three sim cards robbed from victims. The suspects had been handed over to Abia police command for further investigationâ€, PPRO Muka added.
