Consumers across the nation will now enjoy faster and effective relief from pain and fever as GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Nigeria plc has launched the new Panadol with Optizorb.
This is in furtherance of the company’s commitment to offer credible healthcare solutions and products to help people feel better, do more and live longer.
The new Panadol is a 500 mg caplet formulation of paracetamol, enhanced by Optizorb technology to rapidly disintegrate and dissolve in the stomach ensuring a faster absorption in the small intestine.
Mr. Chidi Okoro, Managing Director, GSK, at the unveiling ceremony said: “the new product which is another step ahead for the global Panadol brand will benefit Nigerians immensely. This is because panadol with Optizorb has been carefully fashioned to match the necessary body needs and consumer expectationsâ€.
He revealed that “Panadol with Optizorb starts releasing its medicine in as little as 5 minutes because it disperses 5 times faster than standard paracetamol into the human system. In fact, the clinical trials prove that the paracetamol in Panadol with Optizorb reaches the bloodstream faster than that from standard paracetamol caplets.â€
Okoro stated that “paracetamol is the most widely used form of medicine globally, and Panadol has maintained a great history of offering relief from pain and fever. In fact, its suitability is unsurpassed by any other pharmaceutical analgesic available as OTC. GSK saw the need and opportunity to make a good heritage even better; the result is Panadol with Optizorb.â€
“Panadol has been synonymous with paracetamol since the brand was introduced into the over_the_counter (OTC) market more than 50 years ago. Paracetamol is highly_regarded by healthcare professionals and consumers as a first_line medication because of its efficacy and suitability for mild_to_moderate pain and fever,†he noted.
Panadol Optizorb Marketing Manager, Charles Emakpose explained that Panadol with Optizorb is the result of a highly scientific and rigorous search for an improved paracetamol caplet formulation.
