BENIN — A member of the House of Representatives, Mr Friday Itulah, yesterday, handed over three blocks of classrooms equipped with desk and chairs to Okhuesan community in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, just as he also expended over N4.2 million as revolving loan to assist the poor in the 21 wards of his constituency.
Itulah who is representing Esan North East/South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, called on political leaders in the country to make the people’s interest paramount in whatever they do in order to reduce poverty in the society to the barest minimum.
Itulah said this when he handed over three blocks of classrooms fitted with desks and chairs built through the Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, office to the pupils of Okhhuesan Primary School in the state to address the educational need of students and pupils within the schools in his constituency.
He explained that the N4.2 million revolving loan would assist the poor engage in petty trading, just as he also distributed 60 motorcycles to the ward chairmen and youth leaders through his empowerment scheme.
Speaking at the ceremony, Itulah, stated that “virtually all sectors of our rural economy have been touched in our efforts to make life meaningful for our people. Today, Esan North east and South East local government councils have become a household name in Nigeria on account of the federal government presence we have attracted to the two local government councils.
