Asaba—BARELY a week after men of the Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, confiscated 33,000 litres of suspected adulterated petroleum product at the Asaba end of the Niger Bridge Head, another truck has been intercepted with three suspects arrested.
The latest arrest was carried out in Otu-Jeremi, Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state and the cost of the product seized was put at N1.3 million. Other things concealed in the truck include a pumping machine and hoses. Parading the suspects in Asaba, Delta State, yesterday, the state NSCDC Commandant, Musa Andekin, said the command had intensified its intelligence network, which is paying off.
According to him, “nemesis caught up with them when my men on patrol saw the truck, suspected to be loaded with the product from Okwagbe waterside. When they noticed that they were being chased, they ran into the local government secretariat, where they were finally caught.â€
