AN international fire equipment company with Nigerian presence Alco Systems Nigeria Limited has introduced a new fire fighting device into the Nigerian market.
Explaining how the technology works at a seminar in Lagos, the managing director, Mr.Evipidou George, observed that fighting fire has moved away from being combative.
He explained that the equipment is triggered by heat at 200 degrees and then releases aerosol to control any resultant fire.
George stressed that global fire fighting device has moved away from the initial mundane practice of fighting the disaster.
According to him, fire-pro, the new device, has been in-existence for eight years, in over 60 countries.â€Any extinguisher system to be internationally recognised and certified has to comply with the standard and regulation related to its extinguishing technology,†he added.
On the maintenance of the equipment, Zenon Charalambous, senior business development manager ,fire pro systems ,stated that the equipment which has 15 years life-span is maintained once a year.
