House crisis: Court dashes Rep’s return to N-Assembly …to give ruling August 27
By Ise-Oluwa Ige
ABUJA— Mrs Doris Uboh, the only female lawmaker on the list of six suspended members of the House of Representatives over alleged unruly behaviour yesterday failed, temporarily, in her bid to get a quick order from an Abuja Federal high court compelling Speaker Dimeji Bankole to recall her back into the House.
The Abuja Federal high court judge, Justice Adamu Bello who is presiding over Doris’ case yesterday said there was no way she could deliver ruling in the case before the court went on vacation.
He said the earliest time he could pronounce on her request was August 27, this year when he would have returned from a medical trip abroad.
Doris and five other suspended members of the House of Representatives had approached Justice Bello to stop the Speaker of the House Dimeji Bankole from further preventing them from performing their legislative functions.
