NIGERIAN women have been charged to be more purposeful and result oriented in their various enterprises by leveraging on the opportunities provided by emerging technologies, so as to excel in their endeavour. CEO of Omatek Computers, Mrs. Florence Seriki gave the charge last week during a round table meeting organized by Women in Technology in Nigeria (WITIN) in Lagos, tagged “Empowering Technologiesâ€.
“For one to be in business or successful in life, he does not require much capital or business networks but only requires determination and passion to make it happen, irrespective of what he is doing and location,†said the Omatek boss.
She however, urged the women to start putting their dreams into action by setting up little businesses no matter the size of their capital, with a plan to grow them. She also advised them to seek best ways to apply technology in running such businesses for greater impact.
Mrs. Seriki who stressed the importance of reading and education in every business enterprise further urged the women to read wide and seek for relevant information that could aid them be successful business women of global reput.
Speaking on the topic “The Impact of Technology on Businessâ€, Mr. Oni Omobadegun of Covenant University, Ota said women must appreciate technology and its role in their businesses and apply same for them to make head way in life.
This according to him, could help them grow and compete favourably even at the global stage and also retain their relationships with customers..
