ZOOMmobile Limited, a Nigeria telecommunications solutions provider has announced 50 per cent (fifty percent) slash on the prices of its USB internet modems throughout Nigeria .
In a statement from the company, the Chief Strategy Officer Mr. Usman Amodu-Shuaibu stated that the ultimate aim for offering prospective subscribers a 50 per cent price reduction was to make internet access affordable to Nigerians so as to improve their access to the information super high-way.
According to Amodu, “ for us, the youth in our society are not just mobile and thirsty for knowledge, but you can say that they are constantly seeking information about new ways of doing things and the best way to encourage such new discoveries is to bring the internet to their door steps hence this price reduction.â€
Continuing he said, “ with the internet, our kids in elementary schools can now submit their homework on-line, journalists working outside their newsrooms can now post news stories from remote locations while salesmen can submit their reports to their supervisors while on the field and so on. T
he internet is becoming more and more rounded in empowering our working population and all income groups.â€
The statement further noted that ZOOM’s USBs 595U and USB 727 which previously sold for N16, 000 with 30 day validity now sell for N8, 000 bundled with 100 free hours of browsing and prospective subscribers can be connected in any ZOOM shops and dealership outlets nationwide.
