He however accepted that there is no institution that does not have gangster, hooligans, rascals and the likes of them but according to Taofeek what makes LASPOTECH stand out is the fact that the rate of deviant behaviours in respect to cultism has been reduced to the barest level even if not to zero level.

He maintained that if cultism is found amongst the students the due punishment for engaging in such acts is rustication.

He urged the fresher of the institution not to be carried away by activities on campus but to sit tight for the academic struggle ahead of them. Also to the ND2 and HND 2, reiterated that it is a stepping stone to greatness in the favour market because they will soon be sitting for their last examination in the school. “All you need do is to brace yourselves for the challenges ahead of you and hope for the worst.

The greatest prayer one could have for students is that you would experience more challenges and rough road in life, he said.” He quickly added that when someone’s road is rough then he looks for better options for greener pasture, and for this to be possible, he works harder and inputs more physical efforts in all his endeavours.

He said that the admitted students of 2009 whom the institution collected N5,000 ICT  fees are meant to apply for a refund. Taofeek however said that what the affected students need do is to attach the receipt of payment to their form and forward it to the bursar.

Taofeek condemned in its entirety the statement credited to President Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) as saying that the youths in this country are not capable of ruling this nation. Taofeek asserted that it is an aberration to the youths for IBB to utter such statement adding that the best dynamic President Nigeria has ever produced in the history of this country is General Yakubu Gowon.

According to him, Gowon assumed leadership of Nigeria as a youth at age 29, pointing out that within the years he ruled the country he initiated and completed the construction of third mainland bridge which is still there till date.

Also, on Ahmed Sanni Yerima marriage to a 13 year old girl, the union leader condemned the act and maintained that it is a child abuse, saying that even in tertiary institution no 13 year old person is admitted.

“We all believe that such teenager can not decide for herself and  if the parents of the girl gave their consent to get married to Yerima, I strongly believed it is not binding on the child, he stated.”  Taofeek, however urged the senate not to sweep this act of indiscipline under the carpet as the international communities are waiting to see the reaction of our government on the issue.
