Women 100m top contender, Josephine Omaka may have dropped out of the AFN golden league due to back log of academic work.
Omaka won two legs of the league in Kaduna and Ibadan, but she lost the third leg on the line to Agnes Osazuwu, who is now in firm control for the jack pot after winning the third leg and fourth leg in Makurdi.
“I have a lot of work to do in school. There are too many carry overs from last season due to my involvement in track and field. “I may not be running till the Mobil Championships,†said the athlete who is a student of the Abia Polythenic.
Omaka who is in the Junior Olympic team is now in Abia, where she seldom trains and according to the coach Tobias Igwe, this was a huge set back for Omaka, as she was consistent in her pursuit of athletics glory. “She does not have the time to train anymore she comes once or twice in a week. This is not good for a promising athlete,†said coach Igwe who discovered Omaka.
