OWERRI— Imo State Governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, has approved the dissolution of all boards of government parastatals and agencies “with immediate effectâ€.
A terse release signed by the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Chief Cosmas Iwu, extended Governor Ohakim’s gratitude to the chairmen and members of the dissolved boards for what he termed “their selfless service to the government and people of Imo Stateâ€.
Although government was completely silent on why the board members were summarily sacked through the airwaves of Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC, Owerri, it, however, directed all outgoing chairmen and members of the boards to handover to the chief executive officers of their respective agencies and parastatals.
